A SUV traveling southbound crashed into the side of the Impala, forcing it to flip and land upside down.

A male adult passenger in the Impala died at the scene. The two other adult passengers in the Impala, as well as a woman and a 10-year-old child in the SUV, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The male SUV driver refused treatment.
Why Seeking Medical Treatment Is Critical after a Crash
Sitting in an emergency room can be stressful and time-consuming. When you have been involved in a car crash, however, it is best to err on the side of caution and have yourself medically evaluated.
There are a number of reasons why receiving medical care after a crash is important:
1. Injuries May Not Be Readily Apparent
There are a number of injuries that may not begin to present symptoms for hours or even days after an auto crash. Some of the most common include:
- Soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains, contusions, etc.
- Whiplash
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
A doctor will run a series of tests to identify any damage or injury. Once an injury is diagnosed, you can begin to receive treatment immediately and reduce your recovery time.
2. Medical documentation can help with your claim
Receiving treatment can provide the court with sufficient evidence of the injuries you sustained and the treatment required as a result of the car crash. If your injury was caused by the negligence of another, you may be entitled to substantial compensation for a number of things including:
- Medical care costs
- Lost income for time missed at work
- Pain and suffering
